This period is divided into three parts to divide: rural village, war and wederopbouw.Het first part gives an impression of Ell v r the war, the peace and beauty of the countryside. It is also the story of the shoemaker who all week fr his case stood chatting and weekends as amok went to work on time gain. The only industry in the village, a \"fuus\"" (dairy) and a brewery musical put down in this section. The second part describes the events during the war with the searchlights of the German Wehrmacht, the downing of British bombers by German fighters and penetrating report on fire stabbing and ultimately collapse of the mill (a long solo of the complete percussion). The third part tells of the new ways that a war be broken. People work hard to rebuild, farmhouses are restored and agriculture gentensiveerd.
