Wer bis an das Ende beharrt - Fanfare Band
Fanfare Band - Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy was born February 3, 1809 in Hamburg and died in Leipzig on November 4, 1847. At the age of 6 he received piano lessons from his mother and composition training in 1817 by Carl Zelter. In 1818 - at the age of nine - he performed in a public concert room, and before he was thirteen he had several compositions to his name, including the piano quartet opus 1. His father was rich enough to give him a private orchestra to conduct. He composed his first symphony at fifteen leeftijd.Mendelssohn began around January 1845 his oratorio "Elijah". Simultaneously he worked, however, a symphony, a piano trio, six organ sonatas and incidental music. Thus, his oratorio ready until August 1846. The premiere took place on 26 August 1846 in Birmingham. This coral is one of the examples of Romanticism in this otherwise fairly unknown oratorio.
