Walt Whitman Overture - Wind Band

Wind Band - Holst wrote this work in 1899, at the beginning of his composing career. Written as an instrumental tribute to American writer Walt Whitman, who had been dead for seven years at that time. The style of the composition is closely related to the style of Wagner and Mendelssohn.
