Two Indian Dances - Fanfare Band

Fanfare Band - Skiltons Two Indian Dances were composed originally for string quartet in 1916. He later arranged these dances for orchestra. The Deer Dance (Part 1) was dedicated to the Rogue River Indians of Oregon that were virtually eradicated. Part 2, the War Dance, needs no special explanation for the war language is clear from the constant rhythm of the Indian Drum. The melody of this part is original music from the Cheyenne Indians.
