The Fisher King - Wind Band

Wind Band - The Fisher King is the third in a series of programmatic pieces based on stories of The Holy Grail. Every night the Fisher King, who is suffering from a serious injury, hosts an event with many guests in his castle. Each night there is a procession by three young women. The first carries a plate of bread just as in The Last Supper. The second carries the sword that pierced Jesus’ side at the crucifixion. The third carries The Holy Grail. All who drink from The Holy Grail are healed except for The Fisher King. The King is eventually healed after Percival helps solve the Riddle of The Grail.
