Fanfare Band - The French composer and organist Alexandre Georges was on 25/02/1850 in the French town of Arras born and died on 18/01/1938 in Paris. Tarass Boulba, composed in 1895 for an international competition in Arras in 1896, is a romantic short historical novel by Nikolai Gogol. This novel tells the story of an old Cossack Oekranse, Tarass Boulba, and his two sons, Andriy and Ostap. These two sons studied at the Kyiv Academy and returned to Kiev after their studies back home. The three men went on a journey to Zaporizhian Sich in UKRAINE where they met other Cossacks and then they went to war against Poland.
