Rubia - Fanfare Band

Fanfare Band - The title of this composition Rubia (pronounced Roebia) is derived from the madder plant Rubia tinctorum. Previously, this was widely cultivated in the fertile clay soils around Saint Annaland. After it was dried in a Meestoof, gave the roots a natural hot red / orange dye. Until the 19th century, this dye is very popular and it was also used in our national flag. The advent of synthetic dyes made the crop into oblivion. Until a few years ago.
