Remembrances - Fanfare Band

Fanfare band - Remembrances was composed in the spring of 2026 as a thank you to Pütz’ long-time friend and supporter Jouke Hoekstra. This friendship actually dates back to 2021 (exactly 25 years ago), when Pütz first visited Bolsward (Netherlands) to rehearse his composition Initiales, which he had written shortly before (commissioned by Jouke for the Frysk Fanfare Orkest) for the WMC 2001. Remembrances has nothing in common with Initiales however and yet the piece is filled with many lasting impressions from that time, impressions that (then as now) focus primarily on the beautiful sound of the fanfare orchestra. Before 2001 Pütz couldn't have imagined how refined and diverse, yet also sonorous, a truly good fanfare orchestra could sound.
