Fanfare Band - This composition was commissioned by fanfare STRENGTHTHROUGHUNITY from Oudega, in memory of Nellie Heeringa De Jong. Nellie died from the debilitating disease of cancer when she was 39 years. For years she was a member of the band, as well as her father and her four sisters. During her illness, she was very brave and tenacious, hoping still that all would be well. The many memories of her behind. For these memories shape was decided to write a composition in which Nellie central. Persistence means tenacity, a term to which it was applicable. The composition is an impression that disease, fight, courage, hope, sorrow and parting central.
