Oureana: 1st Ballet Suite - Part 1: Overture - The Feast - Wind Band
Fanfare Band - Oureana: First Ballet Suite was composed in 2011, commissioned by the Academia Musica Banda Ourm. Oureana is based on the foundation legend of the city Ourm. The legend tells of the love and death of Oureana (an Arab princess) and a Portuguese knight (D. Gonzalo). The first King of Portugal sends D. Gonzalo on a mission, where he meets and falls in love with her Oureana is. This four-part musical drama (parts available separately) is a tribute to the Portuguese history and culture. The first part refers directly to Arab cultuur.Part 1: Overture - The FeastEen strange feeling of surprise and disbelief went through the head of D. Gonzalo and his subordinates, that night when she looked at what was happening along the river. Lights, smells, colors and sounds filled the whole valley. D. Gonzalo and others understood immediately that this party was an important, given the wait more preparations for the party than with the defense and security were busy. Part 2: March of the LightsOureana caused great excitement as her father (the Emir) her arm to the great Caliph Al Mansur wants to give. Oureana is not happy and should be swept away by her father. She is, as commodities for peace and protection, forced the caliph (for whom she feels no love) to trouwen.Part 3: The Handkerchief Dance This dance, danced by a small group of girls, creates an enchanting and sensual atmosphere, where every gesture refers to the female schoonheid.Part 4: Sabre Dance In these masculine and warlike dance shows the personal bodyguard of the emir his strength and skill with the sword.
