Marche au Supplice - Wind Band
Wind Band - This part of the "Symphony Fantastique" is the famous "March to the scaffold." The hero dreams that he loves the woman he has slain, before the death was sentenced to the scaffold is placed and then witnessing his own execution. The procession is accompanied by a march at times fierce and gloomy sounds and then suddenly full of pomp and brilliant; loud blare is suddenly followed by the dreary drone of heavy footsteps. At the end of the march are repeated 4 sizes as a kind of 'ide fixe', as a last thought of love interrupted by the fatal blow.
