Manhattan Beach - Wind Band
Wind Band - The American composer and conductor John Philip Sousa became famous by the 136 marches he has composed. That he bore the nickname March King is not surprising. In the late 19th century the inhabitants of New York in the summer, often to the beach of Manhattan, a famous seaside resort at the time, where Sousa during the summer months with his own orchestra. In July and August 1893 visited Sousa and his band back to Manhattan Beach concerts. On this occasion he composed a new march and gave him the title of the place where the concert took place, Manhattan Beach.
