Jazz Suite Nr.2 - Part 8: Finale - Wind Band

Wind Band - The Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich wrote his Jazz Suite Nr. 2 in 1938 commissioned by the Russian State Orchestra for Jazz. This orchestra was then under the musical direction of Serge Koussevitzky. As in his first suite also comes in this second jazz suite the genius and the sense of humor of the composer strongly evident. Although the name suggests that with real unadulterated jazz deal, this is not entirely true. On the contrary, the composition contains virtually no jazz elements. It's more of a ballet suite western - especially Vienna - influences from the romance. The Finale is the eighth and final part of the Jazz Suite No.. 2 of Dmitri Shostakovich. This finale is actually a kind of march in which a portion of earlier thematic material from the suite again used. The Finale ends with the opening theme from Part 1 March of the suite.
