Jazz Suite Nr.2 - Part 2: Lyric Waltz - Wind Band
Wind Band - The Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich wrote his Jazz Suite Nr. 2 in 1938 commissioned by the Russian State Orchestra for Jazz. This orchestra was then under the musical direction of Serge Koussevitzky. As in his first suite also comes in this second jazz suite the genius and the sense of humor of the composer strongly evident. Although the name suggests that with real unadulterated jazz deal, this is not entirely true. On the contrary, the composition contains virtually no jazz elements. It's more of a ballet suite western especially Viennese - influences from the romance. The second part of the Jazz-Suite Nr. 2 is a wonderfully sweet and compelling la waltz Johann Strauss Jr.. and lapping upon several beautiful solos. Almost naturally, this lyrical waltz written in minor key. The roller opens - as in the now famous Second Waltz - with a solo in the saxophones and then by the buyer in a major continued. Everything remains a quiet atmosphere exhale. Truly a wonderful piece of music for musicians, conductors and certainly to the public.
