Hymnus - Wind Band
Wind Band - Hymnus according to the classical scheme ABA built where A and B Allegro the quiet middle section represents. On Hymnus is underlying the `the Gregorian Easter Hymn Victimae Paschali Laudes. The first part A is preceded by a broad introduction to the opening bars of this coral sound. All the melodic elements of this Hymnus, both the initiation and the adagio and allegro in the middle part, get their musical development from the beginning notes of the chorale, so this is actually a core motif. While in the adagio of the woodwind solos on this core motif meditate, stand in the allegro frequently the different instrument groups facing each other or unite in erupting forte-sections. The entire coral appears only at the end of the composition, played by the buyer and by moving figurations in the wood omspeeld registry. Hymnus gets in this way a festive conclusion.
