Fanfare Band - The second part of the Lincolnshire Posey: The Miser and his Man - a local Tragedy.Percy Grainger (1882-1961) was born in Australia pianist, composer, conductor and saxophonist. He studied music in Australia and Frankfurt am Main. He was from 1906 friends with Edvard Grieg him musically benvloedde. He lived between 1901 and 1914 in London and hit are interested in collecting and recording folk songs from rural England. He collected over 500 folk songs, which formed the basis for his British Folk Music Settings. His Lincolnshire Posy, a six-part composition, originated in 1937. Part 2 of this work is titled Horkstow Grange (The Miser and his Man - a local Tragedy). This particle has underlies a tape recording he made in 1906 of this folk song, sung at the time by George Gould Thorpe from goxhill-North Lincolnshire.
