Fanfare Band - François Couperin, nicknamed Le Grand to distinguish him from his cousin, a music teacher and organist of the same name, in 1693 became court organist and music teacher of the princes. In 1723 he carried on his hoffuncties to fully dedicate to composing. Its significance lies in the field of harpsichord music. His compositions contribute largely to the characteristics of the rococo style: gallant, witty and full of decorations. Couperin is now one of the great masters of classical French muziek.Als theme of his "Fugue sur les Jeux d'Anches (roughly translated: Fugue on the Tongue Game - a tongue is part of an organ pipe) has an excerpt from Couperin the Kyrie from Messe Solemnelle are used. In his arrangement for band Marcel Baars the solemn and monumental character of the work, in a brilliant fortissimo ending retained.
