Eligius - Fanfare Band

Fanfare Band - Eligius was composed by order of the music Tavenu from Schoonhoven on the occasion of the 100th anniversary in 2006.Schoonhoven is known as the silver city of Netherlands. The city owes its name to the many gold-and silversmiths there from the 14th century to exercise their craft. The patron saint of goldsmiths, St. Eloy Eligius and the Latin name. The composition consists of 4 parts, each of which show a period in the history of silver city Schoonhoven and development.Part 1: "The court of Blois" In the 14th century, a distinguished noble family, closely related to the Counts of Holland, Zeeland and Hainault, their main residence in the castle of Schoonhoven. The music in this first part gives an impression of the daily life of that time.
