Dies Irae-Ronde du Sabbat - Wind Band
Wind Band - The Symphonie Fantastique by Berlioz (1803-1869) was his first major work, and it was also his most famous. The first performance at the conservatory in Paris on December 5, 1830 Berlioz immediately landed in the top of the romantic music. This symphony was in many ways a revolutionary song. It is the first instrumental work that closely follows a comprehensive program and gave them new content to the concept of program music. The program has a strong autobiographical features: Berlioz has based on his relationship with the Irish actress Harriet Smithson. He made this symphony using the fixed idea, the forerunner of the Leitmotiv. This means that a certain melody, which is linked to a particular person or idea (in this case love), each returning to work when that person or idea exists. The Dies Irae Tour du Sabbath dates from the 5th part of the symphony. The young musician finds itself surrounded by witches and monsters of all kinds and a common dance theme proclaims the coming of the beloved young woman, with a jubilant roar welcomed. There follow infernal orgies, under the tolling of bells and death under the parodiren of the Dies Irae.
