Fanfare Band - The Norwegian captain Daland is just off the Norwegian coast in a violent storm and seeks shelter in a fjord. At night, the mate, who watches, overcome by sleep and does not notice that a ship next Dalands ship anchor. The next morning appear Senta and Hollnder intertwined above the water. The next morning becomes Daland in conversation with the captain of the other ship, Hollnder, who tells about his fate. As punishment he ever mocked God, he may only once every seven years to enter the mainland to find a wife who is faithful unto death. Hollnder sacrifices Daland a treasure when he one night in his house should stay. Daland agrees and promises him even through his unmarried daughter. Thereupon offers Hollnder his whole power. When the dust has settled, the two men go to wal.Senta's lover, the hunter Erik, has her in a dream in the arms of Hollnder and warns her bigotry. Senta know the story about Hollnder of a painting that hangs in her father's house and she recognizes him directly, as soon as it enters the housing. Hollnder sees his savior and Senta Senta is well aware of this. Erik Senta tries again to bring another thought. Hollnder catch snatches of their conversation and because he thinks it is in doubt, leave it immediately with his ship. In desperation Senta collapsed into the sea and the ghost ship sinks, which Hollnder is relieved of his doom.
