Fanfare Band - In the Concertino for Soprano Saxophone (1999), the soprano saxophone takes centre stage. The soprano is graceful, comical, melodious, mischievous and, above all, virtuoso, and all these characteristics appear in this composition in three parts. Part 1: Allegretto Grazioso Part 2: Andante Calme Part 3: Allegro Brillante Personal addition: Initially, I wrote this composition for the fanfare orchestra of the Dutch Royal Air force, the FKKL. Owing to circumstances, however, the work was never performed. Understandably, I am delighted that it now appears on the CD Brass-aux-Saxes Plays Christiaan Janssen . This was my first musical love child, so to speak.
