Fanfare Band - Born on the Fourth of July is an autobiographical 1989 film which tells the story of Vietnam veteran Ron Kovic. Ron is an ordinary American boy who dreams of becoming a true hero and therefore log on to the Marines. In Vietnam awaits him a world of misery and cruelty and he gets seriously injured during a firefight. And the bullets that hit him pierced his lung and spine. He is in the hospital and begins to think about the futility of war. He survived his injuries but is in a wheelchair. He undertook a peace trip through the USA and brings with it the national press.
