Ancient Epic of Gilgamesh - Wind Band

Wind Band - Gilgamesh is best known for the Gilgamesh epic. The epic is composed of a collection of hero stories with Gilgamesh as main character. In these stories the hero Gilgamesh, accompanied by his friend Enkidu, experiences mythological adventures. So he goes in search of eternal life or he fights a duel with supernatural beings sent by the gods on Uruk. In those stories Gilgamesh thus confronts himself with existential questions, in particular the notion of mortality. Gilgamesh is said to have completed Uruk's independence and had the city walls built.
