Sinfonietta for Band - Wind Band
Wind Band - This composition was created in the beginning of the year 1988 and comprises 3 delen.Deel 1: PrologueNa a short introduction is a playful theme proposed, accompanied by the highlighted game of the woodblock. First heard this theme in flute, then alternating with the trumpets. Other instruments take on this theme and the music goes in the direction of the first tutti. The first main theme (lyrical in nature) is then played by the oboe and the glockenspiel. Only a few bars later the second main theme proposed by the brass (trombones, horns and trumpets) in a fugato form. After a brief reprise of the opening is through a pass-through a final climax in this part achieved. Part 1 ends then with a dialogue between flute and alto flute, in a calm and balanced sfeer.Deel 2: Allegro vivo, Allegretto, Allegro vivoHet first and last part of this section consists of a theme that is built on two intervals, namely the minor and major seventh. The buyer then sets the main theme, which theme than the wood register is taken and then by almost all instruments is performed so as to end up in the Allegretto. This Allegretto is repeatedly interrupted by tuttis. In this tutti passages is always the first main theme (Allegro) to recognize.Part 3: PassacagliaNa an almost meditative introduction the Passacaglia theme in the form of a Cantus Firmus proposed by the buyer. Then there are 20 thematic variations on these Cantus (original, inversion, fugato, canon, shortening etc. ..). The composer drew a big cadenza for flute in the middle of this part. It is especially the horns that the lock-fugato initiate. The music propels a last big climax.
