La Neige: Overture - Wind Band

Wind Band - The opera La Neige, from which this overture is taken, is set mainly in the 19th century at the castle of the Grand Duke of Swabia. Ernest, Count of Linsberg and an officer in the service of the Grand Duke, has secretly married Princess Louise of Swabia, without anyone at the Grand Duke's court knowing about it. After a long absence, Ernest returns, and many developments follow in quick succession in this comic opera. The first performance took place on September 10, 1823, at the Paris Opera.
