Douce Dame Jolie - Revisited - Fanfare Band

Fanfare band - Douce Dame Jolie is the title of a song by the French composer Guillaume de Machaut. It is a so-called virelai (chanson balladée/danced song), one of the most famous songs of the late Middle Ages. As the title Douce Dame Jolie – Revisited suggests, the entire work is very closely connected to de Machaut's original, and both the verses (Theme A) and the refrain (Theme B) of the de Machaut song are presented with virtually no thematic changes. This is intentional, in order to maintain the recognizability of the melody throughout the entire composition.
