Frames of Mind - Fanfare Band

Fanfare Band - Frames of Mind can be described as a wandering through the different states of mind of a person (perhaps taking a stroll through nature). If the music sounds a little oppressive or melancholy at first, the mood gradually brightens as the hiker progresses. A contemplative middle section offers a lot of creative and improvisation freedom for soloists and orchestra (meditation in a shady place and self-reflection). The short accelerando at the end announces the happy arrival of the hiker.

Frames of Mind was created in early 2021 as a commission from Stichting CRON / WMC 2022 (NL). The composition will be a compulsory piece in the 3rd Division / Fanfare Band at the World Music Contest (WMC) 2022. Marco Pütz tried to write a composition that on the one hand meets the desired criteria of a compulsory piece, but on the other hand also differs from the usual, typical compulsory pieces. Characteristic for the whole piece (except for a very free middle section) is a steadily increasing tempo.
