Slavyanka Farewell - Brass Band
Brass Band - A Russian concertmars.Vassily Agapkin (born February 3, 1884 in Tambov, died 29 October 1964 in Moscow) was a Russian composer and conductor. At an early age already orphaned, Agapkin was unofficially adopted by a military band leader. This gave the 10-year-old boy a place in his ensemble, which was the start of his musical career. He later studied at the Tambov School, after which he went into the army. The loss of his parents made it clear to him much pain, when in 1928 Agapkin founded a band that consisted of homeless children. Many of them later became professional musicians. The march of Agapkin a celebrity has made 'Procshanie slavyanki' (farewell to the Slavic woman), a march dedicated to all Slavic women in the Balkans that their men into battle saw pulling in the war against the Turkish oppressors.
