Toccata Brevis - Brass Band

Brass Band - Commissioned by Altena Brass and conductor Anno Appelo. With this composition the composer has tried display all facets of the brass band in a short (brevis) work through a toccata. A toccata is a virtuoso fantasy-like instrumental composition without the well-known form originated and developed from the early Baroque. Toccatas often come from the organ literature which Deckers has tried to embed in this composition; hereby the brass band sounding like an organ in a large church.
